It kinda makes sense that electric cars would have names that sounds more like a digital camera than a car.
However I’m still on team “real names only” when it comes to car nomenclature. even tho I own a 328i.... but I also own a Rabbit so that makes up for it.

Volkswagen Föhn seems appropriate, since it is not only a type of wind but also the german word for electric hairdryer

I know. If they want to move into ‘
the next era of the people’s car’
or whatever, they
must
know that one of the important factors for the Beetle and Golf’s success was the name.
Anyone knows what a Golf is.
Non-car people are their target audience. They won’t care or pay attention long enough to learn what an ID-3 is. Stuff like this pisses me off more than I’d like to. I genuinely
want to hear someone from VW explain the reasoning for this naming scheme...

If it wasn’t for those trick wheels, this would be the most boring looking car available.
And yes, the copy machine naming hurts it even more. Hard pass on this from me.

If I recall the rumor correctly, the next gen ‘Golf’ is only coming to the US as the GTI. Perhaps they will just use the name Golf again for the electric version.

With the Beetle going out of production again this year. I’m sure it’ll be back in a few years as an electric

It also works because anything’s better than “ fohning it in” with lame alphanumerics. Well, almost anything lol .
